The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has revealed that the fees for the 2022/2023 academic year will remain unchanged for the 2023/2024 academic year across all the forty-six (46) public colleges of education in the country.

In an official statement released on January 6th, 2024, TTAG stated, “The leadership has been informed that the fees for the 2022/2023 academic year will remain unchanged for the 2023/2024 academic year. However, we do acknowledge the concerns raised by various Student Representative Councils (SRC) and Teacher Trainees regarding the fees.”

Emphasizing the nature of these charges, TTAG clarified that apart from academic year and examination fees, all other charges for the 2023/2024 academic year are internal.

They urged all SRCs to engage with their respective College Managements to address any uncertainties related to the internal charges included in the fees.

“In case an SRC faces any challenge, the National Secretariat of the Association should be promptly informed”, the statement noted.

The issue of fees for final year students (Level 400) not being able to stay on campus due to the “IN-IN-IN-OUT” system for the academic year was also raised.

TTAG reported that they are actively engaged in discussions with the Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) on the matter, and updates will be communicated as developments unfold.

Turning to the topic of allowances, TTAG affirmed that the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) would soon disburse the necessary funds to trainees.
