According to the Institute of Teacher Education and Continuous Professional Development (ITECPD), Final Year trainees of the B.Ed program who did not complete the 12 weeks of allocated field internship will face a delay in their graduation.

This is because the internship is a crucial requirement for the B.Ed program, and it is mandatory for all trainees to complete the stipulated 12 weeks on the field.

The ITECPD has therefore directed the various STS coordinators in affiliated colleges to ensure that trainees who did not meet the 12-week requirement are allowed to continue and make up for the lost weeks.

Failure to do so will result in disqualification from being awarded a degree, and such trainees will not be able to graduate until they complete the full internship requirement.

It’s important to note that the internship program started in January and is expected to end on 5th May 2023.

Therefore, only trainees who fulfill the internship requirements will be permitted to leave their stations on the specified date, and those who don’t will have to continue until they complete the required 12 weeks.

This information should be taken seriously by affected students, and they should heed the directive as soon as possible to avoid any inconvenience or delay in their graduation.

Trainees who are unable to fulfill the 12-week requirement should seek advice from their STS coordinators on the best way to proceed to complete the internship program effectively.
