Adisadel College, popularly known as “ADISCO”, is an Anglican boys’ boarding school in Cape Coast, Ghana.
The College as one of the oldest senior high schools in Africa was ranked 10th out of the top 100 best high schools in Africa by Africa Almanac in 2003, based on quality of education, student engagement, strength and activities of alumni, school profile, internet and news visibility.
The High school on 12th March, 2022 held its 112th speech and prize giving day. An event which is held by the school annually to celebrate the achievements of its learners , Alumnis together with their families and friends and to as well help raise fund to support the school.
This year’s occasion which was sponsored by the Santa 97 year group had in attendance alot of Dignitaries from the length and breadth of the Nation. Popular among them were the Minister for trade and industry, Honorable Alan Kyerematen who happens to be the Guest of Honor and Honorable Dr. Osei Adutwum.
The Education Minister, Honorable Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum in his address admonished the learners to Stay focused and be determined to succeed.
You can be the best in the world but you have to decide to invest alot into yourself. Do not let your background deter you from accomplishing your goals, because accomplishing your goals will help re-write your background story, he added.
Honorable Dr. Osei Adutwum urged the learners and the audience to develop the habit of reading.
Everything you need is hidden in books. Read and get yourselves abreast with books. That is the best practice as learners, he said.
He further added that, the county is in the transition stage from Double track system to a signal track system in the second cycle.
