Spanning from the 13th to the 28th of May, 2023, this momentous initiative aimed to enlighten, engage, and empower teacher trainees within the sector, ensuring they possess a deep understanding of the association’s history, aims and objectives, membership, election processes, and numerous other pertinent topics essential to their professional growth.

The seven colleges of education that were privileged to host this enlightening exercise are as follows:

  1. Foso College of Education
  2. Enchi College of Education
  3. Wiawso College of Education
  4. Komenda College of Education
  5. Bia Lampighter College of Education
  6. OLA College of Education
  7. Holy Child College of Education

Throughout this comprehensive sensitization program, teacher trainees were immersed in the essence and significance of the Teacher Trainee Association of Ghana (TTAG). As a democratic, non-partisan, and independent association, TTAG embodies a noble mission, bearing the motto “A Model for Development” and rallying under the resounding slogan “TTAG – We Mean Well!”

A profound symbol of wisdom and intellect, the association’s logo depicts the “Nyansapo,” a cherished Akan traditional representation of a store of knowledge, acknowledging the inherent brilliance and insightfulness of teachers.

TTAG’s overarching objectives are rooted in a deep commitment to championing the cause of teacher trainees in Ghana. The association serves as trainees collective voice, advocating for their rights, interests, and professional growth.

Furthermore, TTAG strives to promote exemplary academic, professional, and moral standards among trainees, ensuring they emerge as outstanding educators who positively impact the lives of their future students.

Additionally, TTAG endeavors to foster collaboration, understanding, and friendship among students of Colleges of Education across Ghana and other student bodies, both domestically and internationally, as long as the aims and objectives of such bodies align harmoniously with those of TTAG.

Encouraging social programs among teacher trainees stands as yet another essential objective, fostering camaraderie, and facilitating holistic development.

The far-reaching sensitization efforts undertaken by the WEC Sector of TTAG is a transformative step towards fostering a profound sense of belonging and unity among teacher trainees across the various colleges of education in the sector.

By equipping trainees with a comprehensive understanding of TTAG’s rich heritage, core values, and strategic vision, this initiative ensures that each individual becomes an integral part of the association’s fabric, united in purpose and driven by a collective commitment to excellence.

This sensitization exercise was not solely about disseminating information; it was a rally cry for active participation, urging teacher trainees to become catalysts for positive change within the educational landscape of Ghana.
