In a significant development towards enhancing the quality of technical and vocational education, the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) and the Akenten Appiah Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) have reached an agreement to cede eight Colleges of Education to AAMUSTED.

Assessment by GTEC Confirms Readiness
By the agreement, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) conducted a thorough assessment to determine the preparedness of AAMUSTED to mentor these Technical and Vocational Colleges.

The commission has confirmed that AAMUSTED is fully prepared and equipped to take on this responsibility.
Colleges of Education Ceded to AAMUSTED
Below is the list of the eight Colleges of Education that have been handed over to AAMUSTED for mentoring:
- Ada College of Education, Ada Foah, Greater Acera Region
- Akatsi College of Education, Akatsi, Volta Region
- Bagabaga College of Education, Tumale, Northern Region
- Wiawso College of Education, Sewfi-Wiawso, Western-North Region
- St. John Bosco College of Education, Navrongo, Upper East Region
- Nusrat Jahan Ahmadiyya College of Education, Wa, Upper West Region
- Mampong Technical College of Education, Mampong Ashanti, Ashanti Region
- Komenda College of Education, Komenda, Central Region
Enhancing Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development
The ceding of these Colleges of Education to AAMUSTED is aimed at enhancing skills training and entrepreneurial development at the tertiary level.
