Courses for Final Year Teacher Trainees in Colleges of Education affiliated To UEW

Final year students in the 46 public colleges of education in Ghana will commence their last academic semester on June 3rd, 2023.

This will mark the end of their journey in their respective Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programs.

As part of the curriculum, the Level 400 trainees in colleges of education affiliated to the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) have scheduled courses for the second semester;

Early Childhood Education

For those reading Early Childhood Education programs, the scheduled courses include Administration and Management of Early Grade, Contemporary Issues in Early Grade Education, Translation Practice, and Extended Teaching (Post Internship).

It is important to note that these courses are designed to equip the soon-to-be graduates with adequate knowledge, skills, and expertise needed to effectively manage early grade classrooms.

Primary Education

Final year students in Primary Education will study Administration and Management of Primary School, Translation Practice, and Extended Teaching (Post Internship).

These courses will provide them with in-depth knowledge on how to run primary schools and the best practices for teaching primary school pupils.

JHS Education

For those pursuing Junior High School programs, the courses scheduled include Administration and Management of JHS, Translation Practice, Creative Writing in Ghanaian Language, African Literature, Varieties of English, and Extended Teaching (Post Internship).

The courses have been designed to equip the final year students with the necessary skills and knowledge required to manage and teach in a junior high school.

It’s important to note that there may be some unique additional courses based on the specialized JHS programmes an individual is studying.
