The National Labour Commission (NLC) held a meeting with the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) on 30th August, 2023, to discuss the progress of the implementation of the Arbitral Award by the government.

The meeting was highly anticipated by all the parties as it was seen as an opportunity to address the ongoing strike by CETAG members.

According to reports received, the NLC suggested that CETAG suspend their industrial action to allow for further discussions on the matter.

However, the Leadership of CETAG stated that they cannot return to the classroom without being paid their August salaries and other conditions being met by the government.

They emphasized that the decision to even end the strike would have to be a collective decision by all members of CETAG.
