Established as a private school in 2004 by Dr. Augustine Tawiah, MP for Bia West Constituency, Bia Lamplighter College of Education was officially inaugurated in March 2019. Since then, it has been hailed as “The Land of Light and Possibilities,” where barriers are overcome, and gloom is transformed into brilliance.
Hon. Fussene Adams Mohammed, the esteemed first SRC President of Bia Lamplighter College of Education, has displayed exemplary leadership.
As a member of the BLACoE College Council and the Alumina President, he has taken up arms to serve as the TTAG-WEC SECTOR President, showcasing his unwavering dedication to advancing the interests of teacher trainees.
Additionally, he has contributed significantly to the association, earning the well-deserved moniker of “Unsheikable Sheik.”
In the same vein, Hon. Atta Mensah Eric, the SRC President from 2018 to 2020, has continued his impactful journey by assuming the role of TTAG National Financial Controller for the 2020/2021 academic year.
Hon. Lusy Ankamah, the Vice President of the same SRC term, has also made valuable contributions as the Deputy Organizing Secretary for TTAG WEC-SECTOR.
Furthermore, Hon. Andrews Acheampong, the General Secretary of BLACoE SRC from 2018 to 2020, currently serves as the sector administrator and held the position of the immediate past General Secretary for TTAG WEC-SECTOR.
These individuals exemplify the spirit of service and dedication that permeates the college.
As per the TTAG constitution, annual elections are conducted to select new leaders who champion the cause of teacher trainees. Two prominent figures from the 2021/2022 SRC executives have stepped forward to continue their leadership journey.
Hon. ISSIFU ISAAC, the former SRC PRO, now holds the position of Organizing Secretary for TTAG WEC-SECTOR.
JEPHTHAH NANA KWAME, the fourth SRC President (2021/2022), after serving as the National Treasurer for TTAG, has mustered the momentum to contest the highest office of the association—TTAG National President.
Through his deep involvement in the association, he has acquired valuable insights into its workings, earning him the respect and nickname “Captain JEPHTHAH.”
The recent victory of the BLACoE Men’s Soccer Team at the CENTWEST games held at EnchiCoE marks a significant milestone. It was the college’s inaugural participation in such an event, showcasing their talent and determination.
