In an official statement released earlier today, the University of Ghana (UG) and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have alerted the general public that admission applications for their undergraduate programmes will close today.
This applies not only to West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) holders but also to other prospective students looking to secure admission into these prestigious institutions.
Both universities had previously announced that their admission portals would close by the end of December 22, 2023, as communicated before the release of the 2023 WASSCE results for school candidates.

The admissions boards of UG and KNUST are expected to finalize the selection process for candidates who meet the required cut-off points in the first week of January 2024.
Successful applicants are strongly urged to be present in school before the end of January 2024 to commence their first 100-level courses in their chosen programmes.
This is essential to ensure a smooth transition into university life and avoid any disruption in their academic journey.
