Every generation of adults seems to worry about the next generation of youths.
The perception of people today is no different, with theories abounding as to why the moral standards of living are slipping, compared with previous standards.
From mobile phones to helicopter parents, it might seem like a foregone conclusion that our current crop of young people is destined to be insecure, inattentive, and unable to cope with challenges and stress.
Many as a result are venturing into activities and associations which end them in prison, and some untimely death.

Adding his voice to this challenge and recommendations to mitigate it, a Senior Lecturer at Komenda College of Education, Mr. Osei Kojo Agyeman, posits that the youths are just replicating what is around them.
“We are always making it seem that the youth is the cause of the owes in our society, but I think we the higher people have to do what we say and stop lashing the youth forgetting that We(adults) are directing the youth”, he expressed.
“If a clergy will cause a widow who can not buy common salt for cooking to bring her little in the name of offering and tithe only for clergy to gather all such and buy V8 to enjoy, what do we expect the youth to focus on?”, Mr. Osei Kojo Agyeman asks.
In a dialogue with Coleman publications on 5th August 2022, Osei admitted that he has worked with many youth groups for many years, and great ideas, skills, and attitudes needed by most youth cannot be shown by very key adults (Ph.D., MPhil, Prof, Rev, Very Rev, etc) in our society.

But Unfortunately, these key adults end up influencing these youth with their negative attitudes and turn around to complain about the youth.
“For me, the youth of today are doing their best. All that the youth need is perfect examples and exemplary lifestyle and attitudes from their seniors to help them do the magic”, he added
“Today youth are exposed to better technologies, education, health, etc and they are smart than the word smart.” he continued.
He has therefore called on all to display good morals and standards for the youths to emulate.
“I and all other adults around the youth have a duty. And that is to display to them what we say and the youth will cause a positive change for the entire world we live in”, he concluded.
