YEA Opens Applications for Community Police Assistants & Community Health Workers – APPLY HERE

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has announced the opening of applications for two new modules aimed at addressing critical needs in the country.

These programs, designed to combat unemployment and strengthen community services, are open to eligible young Ghanaians.

Community Police Assistants

In partnership with the Ghana Police Service, the YEA is recruiting Community Police Assistants (CPAs) to bolster security in communities.

This program aims to increase community policing efforts and contribute to crime reduction.

Eligibility Criteria for CPAs:

  • Age: 18-35 years
  • Minimum qualification: Senior High School education
  • Successful applicants will be engaged for a two-year contract.

Applying for the CPA Module:

  • Applications are open from October 22nd to 29th, 2024.
  • Apply online through the YEA portal: https://apply.yea.gov.gh/client/register
  • Applicants can seek assistance from their local YEA District offices.

Community Health Workers

The YEA, in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service, has launched the Community Health Workers (CHWs) Programme.

This initiative aims to strengthen access to healthcare services in rural areas and contribute to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

CHWs will work closely with the Ghana Health Service at the community level.

Eligibility Criteria for CHWs:

  • Age: 18-35 years (females encouraged to apply)
  • Minimum qualification: Senior High School education with passes in English and Mathematics
  • Fluency in English and at least one local language is required.
  • Ability to use (or learn to use) a smartphone is necessary.
  • Only short-listed candidates who successfully complete the CHW training program will be engaged.

Role of Community Health Workers:

CHWs act as a bridge between communities and healthcare service delivery points. They facilitate the work of Community Health Nurses, Community Health Officers, and midwives.

Applying for the CHW Module:

Application is free of charge and only short-listed applicants who successfully complete the training program will be engaged.
