GES Declares March 28 as National Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Day For Teachers

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that March 28, 2025, will be observed as a National Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Day for teachers nationwide.

This initiative aims to emphasize the importance of continuous professional growth and mental health support for educators.

In a statement issued by Dr. Munawaru Issahaque, the Acting Deputy Director-General (Q&A), the declaration highlighted the necessity of institutional support for teachers.

“This declaration is to ensure that all teachers nationwide have the necessary institutional support and dedicated time to participate in the Mental Health and Well-being Training for Teachers without disruption,” the statement said.

The GES management has instructed all Regional Directors of Education to communicate the directive to Metro, Municipal, and District Directors of Education.

According to the management, this coordination will ensure that teachers across the country fully participate in the training sessions without interference.

“The management of GES is by this letter requesting all Regional Directors of Education to inform all Metro, Municipal, and District Directors of Education to adhere to the above directive with regards to the CPD day for our teachers”
