The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has announced the suspension of March 2025 salaries for certain employees on the Government of Ghana (GoG) Payroll System due to inconsistencies in their National Identification Authority (NIA) numbers.

In an official statement released on March 20, 2025, the department revealed that routine checks of the payroll system uncovered discrepancies in the NIA numbers provided by some employees.

“During our routine review, we identified discrepancies in the NIA numbers provided by certain employees. As a result, we have had to suspend their salaries temporarily while we investigate further.”

The CAGD stressed the importance of resolving these discrepancies to ensure proper payment.

To address the issue, the CAGD has requested affected institutions to submit updated staff lists, or Nominal Rolls, by April 4, 2025.

The corrected data must include explanatory remarks for all impacted employees and should be sent electronically to ppd.nominalroll@cagd.gov.gh and ppdcoordination2@gmail.com.

Heads of Human Resource departments were urged to act swiftly.

“It would be appreciated if you could submit the staff list (Nominal Roll) for the affected employees of your institution to facilitate a comprehensive investigation and the subsequent release of their salaries”

The CAGD has provided contact information for Naakie Osam-Sackey (0244371804) and Michael Arku-Kelly (0554428943) for further clarification on the matter.
