Colleges of Education Open Admission for 2025/2026 Academic Year – APPLY HERE

The Forty-Six Public Colleges of Education in Ghana are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Four-Year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Degree Programmes for the 2025/2026 academic year.

Admission Requirements

WASSCE Holders: Credit passes (A1-C6) in six subjects, including three core subjects (English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three elective subjects relevant to the course of study.

SSSCE Holders: Credit passes (A-D) in six subjects, including three core subjects (English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three elective subjects relevant to the course of study.

Candidates awaiting results for the 2025 WASSCE or TVET Certificate II Examinations can also apply.

GCE Advance Level Applicants:

Passes in three subjects (at least one should be Grade D or better) and credit passes in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, and a Science or Social Science subject.

ABCE Applicants:

Passes in three subjects (at least one should be Grade D or better) and credit passes in five subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies.

TVET Applicants:

TVET Certificate II Examinations with Lower Credit (C-) or better in six subjects, including three core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three relevant elective subjects.

Possess Certificate II in three relevant trade areas awarded by recognized bodies along with NABPTEX Certificate II in lieu of English and Mathematics.

NABPTEX certificate II in relevant trade areas in addition to three credit passes in WASSCE/SSSCE core subjects, including English and Mathematics.

National Certificate II qualification in Competency Based Training (CBT) in a relevant trade area awarded by TEU on the NTVETQF.

Foreign Qualifications:

Foreign qualifications must be referred to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) for determination of equivalences and eligibility for admission.

Note: The American SAT, TOEFL, etc., are not accepted as entry qualifications.

Bachelor of Education Programmes Offered

The Colleges of Education currently offer the following B.Ed programmes:

  1. 4-Year Bachelor of Education in Early Grade Education
  2. 4-Year Bachelor of Education in Primary Education
  3. 4-Year Bachelor of Education in Junior High School (JHS) Education

The JHS option allows applicants to specialize in subjects such as Science, Mathematics, ICT, Home Economics, Visual Arts, Social Studies, Geography, English, and more.

Special Needs Applicants

Visually Impaired:

Study facilities are available at N.J. Ahmadiyya College of Education (Wa), Wesley College of Education (Kumasi), and Presbyterian College of Education (Akropong). Requirements:

  • WASSCE: Credit Passes (A1-C6) in two core subjects and three elective subjects.
  • SSSCE: Credit Passes (A-D) in two core subjects and three elective subjects.

Hearing Impaired

Study facilities are available at Presbyterian College of Education (Akropong). Requirements:

  • WASSCE: Credit passes (A1-C6) in three core subjects and three elective subjects.
  • SSSCE: Credit Passes (A-D) in three core subjects and three elective subjects.

Online Application Procedure

Payment: Applicants should pay GHS 350.00 at any branch of Consolidated Bank, Ghana (CBG) Limited.

Applicants can also make payment through mobile money wallet: Tigo Cash, Vodafone cash, Airtel Money, and MTN Mobile Money by dialing short code *924*8# from all networks

Application: Use the provided PIN and Serial Number to complete the online application form at https://admission.coeportal.edu.gh/

Submission: Print a copy of the completed form, attach a passport photo and results slip(s), and send via EMS priority envelope to the principal of the applicant’s first choice college.

Important Guidelines

Applicants should read and ensure they fully understand all relevant instructions, especially the programmes offered in particular colleges.

Select first, second, and third choice colleges in order of preference and choose a Ghanaian language offered in a particular college.

Properly completed application forms will be processed; incomplete forms will not.

After completing the online application form, applicants should print a copy, attach a passport photo and copies of their results slips, and send them by EMS priority envelope to the principal of the first choice college.

Applicants will be notified of the receipt and outcome of their applications by SMS.

Applications will end on Sunday, August 31, 2025
