The President of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG), H.E. Soale Razak, has issued a statement addressing concerns regarding National Service postings, trainee allowances, and other issues affecting students in Colleges of Education (CoEs).
The statement, sighted by Coleman Publications aims to reassure trainees and provide updates on ongoing efforts to resolve pertinent challenges.
National Service Postings
Addressing recent anxieties about accreditation statuses of CoEs potentially affecting National Service postings, President Razak clarified that the National Service Authority (NSA) has received communication from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) regarding the accreditation status of all CoEs.
He assured that the rumours of expired accreditations are untrue and that TTAG, in collaboration with the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF), is actively working to resolve any related issues.
He emphasized that no student will be denied the opportunity to fulfill their national service mandate.

Release of Examination Results
He acknowledged delays in the release of examination results from affiliate universities. Razak stated that TTAG has engaged with five out of six affiliate universities (excluding UCC) and found that the delays were often attributable to students’ failure to adhere to course registration and fee payment deadlines.
Following these engagements, results have been released by KNUST, UEW, and UG (Graduate class).
He further noted that the examination unit of UDS is actively working with affiliate Colleges to resolve any anomalies and expedite the release of remaining results.

He also revealed the association has tasked a team to compile information from various SRCs of CoEs affiliated to UEW to revisit the University and find a resolution by the end of the month.
Trainee Allowances
President Razak confirmed that teacher trainees’ allowances, including three months of arrears for the immediate 2024 graduating class, would be paid.
