The National Service Authority (NSA) has recently released PIN codes for trained teachers to register for the 2025 service year.
However, not all prospective personnel have been able to access their PINs. The NSA claims that this is due to some colleges having expired accreditation, which has caused a delay in the registration process.
According to their statement, the NSA released PIN codes for 9,082 trained teachers from 24 Colleges of Education across Ghana, marking the commencement of the registration process for the 2025/2026 National Service Year.
However, a total of 16,159 trained teachers were submitted by 36 Colleges of Education for upload into the NSA System for National Service.
Out of these, the NSA revealed that 7,077 trained teachers are yet to be uploaded due to missing cover letters from their respective institutions, making it impossible for them to process their details.
“Additionally, among the 9,082 successfully uploaded trained teachers, 5,336 students are from institutions with expired accreditation, while only 3,746 students belong to institutions with active accreditation as recognized by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC),” NSA stated

This means that out of the 36 Colleges of Education, only 14 institutions currently hold active accreditation, while 22 institutions have expired accreditation status.
In response to these ongoing concerns raised by NSA, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) stepped in to clarify the accreditation status of these colleges claimed to have expired accreditations.
GTEC revealed that it has renewed the accreditation of all Colleges of Education up to August 2028, making graduates from these colleges eligible to register for their mandatory National Service, contrary to what NSA posited.

The Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) have also refuted the NSA’s assertions, stating that the claim by the NSA that certain Colleges of Education lack accreditation or have expired accreditation is inaccurate.
PRINCOF further confirmed that GTEC has renewed the accreditation of all Colleges of Education up to August 2028..
Therefore, prospective personnel are to note that while the PIN codes for the 2025 service year has faced some challenges, the NSA, GTEC, and PRINCOF are working together to resolve the issues and ensure that all qualified trained teachers register for their National Service.
Students who also accessed expired PIN codes (2024 codes) are advised to exercise patience as their colleges and NSA are working to resolve it.
