Text:
If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered. Pro 21:13
Indeed, the scripture was written for our Good that we might live according to the will of God – Jesus Christ( Romans 15:4). There are people who are trying to mix divine protocols with earthly protocols.
This is very dangerous! What I want to let you know is, God doesn’t operate as how man does, neither do He see as how man sees..( 1 Samuel 16:7). His ways are far above our imaginations and understanding. That’s Why He is God.
Now, God through His son (Jesus) has giving us His blessings and riches( Ephesians 1:3) that we too might be able to impact into the lives of the weak and the needy. He has made us saviors to many who are in darkness and in poverty. Anytime we turn our back to such people, it make us devalue and dishonor the assignment that God has giving to us as His children.
God is ever ready to listen to our cries and pains; So has He made us! He want us to be ever ready to pay attention to the cry of the weak and the less privilege. Its our duty as people of God to do so!.. The world is assigned to us to cater for.(Matthew 28:19). Hallelujah!
When solomon the son of David was talking about this, He framed it this way;
If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered. Pro 21:13
This is very deep! Anyone who will close His ears to the cry of the poor will not be heard when He too cries for help. It doesn’t means God will not hear him/Her. Ha! Whom will God pass through to answer Him? Isn’t it a man? God need a man to do that! And this was the man He refused to answer to years ago.! This is amazing. What should it tell us? It tells us we should be ever ready to answer the poor and the weak in the Lord!.. The Lord Said this because He knew how powerful and rich He has made us. This is inline with what the Lord Jesus said,
Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. Mat 5:42
Did you see that? YOUR INPUT matters to God! As Jesus gave His life as sacrifice to redeemed us, so are we to live as a living sacrifice unto others. We are not called to live unto ourselves, but we are called to live for others. We are not called to be selfish but to be selfless in the name of Jesus.
NOTE: GOD KNOW YOU CAN THAT’S WHY HE IS ASKING YOU TO HELP THE POOR, DON’T LIMIT YOURSELF.
Let’s delve deeper tomorrow.
