In a statement released on Friday, January 5th, the management of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has dismissed claims of operating a remote or satellite campus in Nigeria.
This statement comes in response to reports circulating in some media spaces on Thursday, alleging that UEW had been banned in Nigeria for awarding questionable degrees.

UEW clarified that it has no satellite campuses, physical establishments, or remote operations in Nigeria.
The university also emphasised that it has no affiliations with any educational institution or entity in Nigeria to award degrees.
“It is crucial to emphasise that UEW does not maintain any satellite campuses, physical establishments, or remote operations within Nigeria. Additionally, we have no affiliations with any educational institution or entity in Nigeria for purposes of awarding degrees” the statement noted.
The management added that its sole focus is on providing quality education at its campuses in Ghana.

Furthermore, the university urged the media and the general public to verify any information before broadcasting it on public platforms.
Stakeholders are also encouraged to approach the university directly for any queries or clarifications regarding their operations.
