Visual Arts Unit of Komenda College of Education Gets Makeover

The Assai Visual Arts Students’ Association (AVASA) of Komenda College of Education has successfully renovated their Visual Arts Unit (Creative Arts Department) with the help of a grant from Parallel Integration Ghana.

The funding enabled a complete overhaul of the department’s two-lecture hall block, addressing critical needs for student safety and improved learning conditions.

Led by the dedicated efforts of Mr. Sedudji Kwesi Tayviah, lecturer and Patron of the AVASA Association, the renovation project included essential electrical repairs, structural reinforcements, ceiling repairs, and a fresh coat of paint throughout the entire building.

The project also incorporated important accessibility upgrades, including the installation of ceiling fans to ensure comfortable ventilation and optimal learning conditions.

The renovation has not only enhanced the overall aesthetic appeal of the lecture halls but also created a safer and more conducive learning environment for both students and faculty.

“The improved ventilation, lighting, and aesthetics have significantly enhanced the learning experience,” said Mr. James Herbert Bedu-Addo, Project Supervisor.

The College Principal, V. Rev. Prof. Kwesi Nkum Wilson also expressed his gratitude for the grant, highlighting its importance in fostering a conducive learning environment for Visual Arts students.

“This renovation is a testament to our commitment to providing our students with the best possible facilities,” he stated.

Upcoming AVASA Elections

In other news, the association has set October 4, 2024, as the date for their annual elections.

Eligible members in Levels 200 and 300 are invited to contest for positions in the association.

Nomination forms are available from the Electoral Commissioner and must be submitted by October 2, 2024.
