Update on Level 400 Practicum Fee by Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana

The National Secretariat of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has issued an update regarding the level 400 Practicum Fee.

This update, released on 11th July 2023, highlights TTAG’s efforts to address the fee-related matters in collaboration with the affiliated universities.

TTAG has taken notice that certain affiliated universities have been charging fees for Level 400 first-semester examination, encompassing teaching practicum, project work, and other related expenses.

In order to navigate this issue and ensure fairness, TTAG has engaged with the respective affiliated universities through the National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF).

Through their engagement, TTAG has acquired specific details from two institutions regarding the fees charged. The University of Ghana and the University for Development Studies have both set the practicum fee at GH¢ 260.00.

Reassuring all teacher trainees, TTAG emphasizes their commitment to actively engage in proactive discussions with all affiliated universities to address the fee-related matters.

TTAG further assures teacher trainees that updates regarding the resolution of the fee issue will be communicated in a timely manner. This ensures that students remain informed about any progress made in negotiations.

If any challenges or discrepancies arise in the implementation of the revised fee, TTAG encourages students to bring them to light and have them addressed accordingly.

By working collaboratively with affiliated universities and advocating for fair treatment, TTAG aims to provide a supportive and conducive environment for teacher trainees in Ghana.
