A former employer of the Ghana Education Service, Michael Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Teacher Kwadwo has stated Teachers in Ghana are treated as slaves by their Employers whilst the innocent learners are also not given the needed attention.
According to the YouTuber, he does not understand why Ghana Education Service Should forcefully take monies from Teachers to supply them with laptops which are to serve as Teaching and Learning Resources. Adding that, Teaching and Learning Materials are the responsibility of the Ghana Education Service to provide.
Teacher Kwadwo stated the major issue is that it has been over a year since they made the payments for the laptops, yet Teachers, including him (Teacher Kwadwo), are yet to receive them. According to him, Teachers are quiet about the issue thereby stating they are being treated as slaves.
Below is the post shared to his Facebook page;
“They took Teachers’ money “BY FORCE” and told them that they will be supplied with LAPTOPS.
Remember,the laptop is serving as a Teaching & Learning Resource (TLR) for which the teacher isn’t supposed to pay for!!!
It’s been over a year and they haven’t received the laptops (including Me) yet Teachers can’t say anything about it. 🤐
If I tell you that,Teachers are treated as SLAVES & the Leaders & GES don’t give a f**k about the innocent learners,this is one of the proofs. Fix GES!!!”
