The disbursement of the two-month arrears to all teacher trainees in the 46 public Colleges of Education by the Student Trust Fund (SLTF) is a commendable effort that deserves recognition. The payment of these arrears will help to ease the financial difficulties faced by trainee teachers and enable them to focus on their studies without distractions.
It will also serve as a morale booster for teacher trainees, as they can now meet their basic needs and concentrate fully on their academic pursuits.
