Stay away from Negotiating Unapproved Fees With College Management- TTAG Cautions All SRCs

The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana, TTAG has issued a caution to all Students’ Representative Councils (SRC) in the various Colleges of Education to stay away from negotiating unapproved fees with their College Management.

According to the Leadership of the Association, the fees to be paid for the 2023/24 academic year should conform with the 15% threshold increment approved by the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education. Any other figure aside from the approved should not be ‘entertained’

In a communique released on 10th January 2023, the leadership asserted they have taken cognizance of the dreaded living most trainees are experiencing due to their inability to settle their fees which have caused some to defer their courses and others to drop out of college.

“We understand the frustration this might poses on trainees and subsequently on their gurdians since the economic conditions of our country do not spare the former nor the latter”, TTAG wrote

The Leadership is therefore asking all College Management to adhere to the 15% increment threshold as instructed.

They, therefore, cautioned all students leaders in the various colleges to stay away from negotiating any fee which is unapproved with College Management
