The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced significant progress in implementing the remaining items of the Pre-Tertiary Teachers Collective Agreement, following a meeting between the Ministry of Education, GES Management, and Teacher Union leaders.

In a statement issued on 30th September, 2024, the GES, referencing letter GES/DD-G(MS)/28/24/270, stated that “considerable progress has been made regarding the implementation of the remaining items in the Agreement, leading to an understanding between the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service and Teacher Unions.”

The statement also called on Regional Directors to inform all teachers, through their respective Metro Municipal/District Directors of Education, about the positive developments.

The GES emphasized the need for teachers to remain focused on teaching and learning while the outstanding issues continue to be addressed.

They also expressed their gratitude to the teachers for their dedicated service and continued support, particularly during this week, which marks World Teachers’ Day.

“Management also wishes to use the opportunity to thank teachers for their dedicated service and continued support, especially as the world celebrates teachers this week,” the statement read.
