The National Teaching Council (NTC) has officially confirmed the pass mark for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) as 52%, debunking previous reports of a 70% requirement.
This announcement was made during an informative session held on July 12, 2024, with the final year students and the service personnel at Komenda College of Education.
The purpose of the engagement was to enlighten the students about the NTC’s role and the importance of the licensure exams.

The NTC officials clarified that the pass mark for the GTLE had been initially set at 70%, but after extensive discussions and consultations with stakeholders, it was decided to reduce it to 52%.
Encouraging the students to adequately prepare for the examination, the officials assured them that the exam questions would closely align with the curriculum they had been taught.
Emphasizing the need for dedicated studying, the students were reminded that success in the GTLE would allow them to obtain their teaching licenses once and for all.
