The Coalition of Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) trainees is demanding immediate action from Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia regarding the outstanding allowances owed to them.
Despite the completion of the NABCO programme, trainees have been left in the lurch for months, chasing the government for arrears.
The Coalition expressed their frustration in a statement released on Monday, June 24th, 2024.

They highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s promise during a campaign tour in the Volta Region on June 2nd, 2024, where he assured former NABCO trainees that their 9-month arrears would be paid.
“On June 2, 2024, the Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, made a significant promise to vulnerable former NABCO Trainees during his campaign tour in the Volta Region, committing to pay the Trainees’ 9-month arrears.”

However, weeks have passed with no action taken, leaving the trainees facing financial hardship.
“Frankly, Mr. Vice President, NABCO Trainees have been waiting patiently for their hard-earned arrears for too long, only to be met with silence and disregard from your office that unveiled the scheme.”
The trainees are calling for Dr. Bawumia to fulfill his promise and release the outstanding arrears without further delay.
“Mr. Vice President and flagbearer, we urge you to honor your promise and release our outstanding arrears without further delay. We demand the immediate payment of our outstanding arrears. Your negligence is a slap in the face to our dedication and hard work. It is time for action, not just words. Pay us what you owe as promised.”
