National Service Authority Transitions to Cashless Payment System – Check Here

0

The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced a mandatory transition to a cashless payment system, encouraging all user agencies and stakeholders to make payments through the GHANA.GOV platform.

According to the NSA, the move aligns with the government’s broader initiative to modernize revenue collection through the GHANA.GOV platform.

“This shift to digital payments offers greater transparency, convenience and accessibility for those working with the NSA,” stated Mr. Felix Gyamfi, Director-General of the NSA, in a press release issued on February 5, 2025. “Payments can be made 24/7 from anywhere in Ghana.”

All user agencies and stakeholders are now required to make all payments, including the 20% and 10% administrative service charges, through the GHANA.GOV platform, accessible via www.ghana.gov.gh or by dialing *222# on all mobile networks.

The GHANA.GOV platform provides a unified digital avenue for accessing various government services, offering a multitude of payment options such as:

  • Bank Cards: Accepting both debit and credit cards
  • Mobile Money: Services available by dialing *222#
  • Online Banking: Utilization of internet banking or mobile banking apps
  • QR Code: Convenient scan-to-pay feature
  • Direct Transfer: Account-to-account transfer options
  • SWIFT Transfers: For international payments
  • ACH Transfers: Automated Clearing House payments

Effective immediately, all entities are instructed to cease manual payments to any NSA staff at district, regional, or headquarters levels, as these methods are now deemed invalid.

Mr. Gyamfi emphasized the importance of compliance, stating, “Henceforth, all entities must cease manual payments to any NSA staff at the district, regional, and headquarters, as this method of payment is no longer valid.”

The NSA has encouraged all stakeholders to embrace this new digital payment system for a more convenient and efficient experience.

“We collectively support the Government of Ghana in achieving its objective of establishing a cashless economy,” Gyamfi added.
