The Office of the President has initiated a comprehensive audit of government institution payrolls, requesting detailed information on all staff additions since December 7th, 2024.
The audit, framed as an effort “to ensure the accuracy and integrity of government payroll records under the John Mahama administration,” aims to maintain transparency and accountability in payroll management.
In a letter dated January 15, 2025, Chief of Staff Julius Debran outlined the specific details required from each institution.
The requested information includes:
- Full Name
- Designation/Job Title
- Employee Identification Number (if applicable)
- Date of Appointment
- Date Added to Payroll

“This information is critical to maintaining transparency and accountability in our payroll management processes,” the letter emphasizes.
Government institutions are required to submit the requested data to the Office of the President by Friday, January 31st, 2025.
Mr. Debrah stressed the importance of cooperation in the matter. “Your cooperation in this important matter is highly appreciated,” he wrote.
