The agreement between the Government of Ghana and Organized Labour has resulted in a revised Base Pay for the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) for 2024.
Negotiations were held under the auspices of the Public Services Joint Standing Negotiating Committee (PSJSNC), with the Government represented by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations (MELR), and Ministry of Finance (MOF), and Organized Labour representing workers Unions, Associations, and Institutions within the Public Service of Ghana.
The agreement, made on the 14th of November, 2024, outlines the terms of the revised Base Pay for the 2024 calendar year.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Base Pay on the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) will witness a 23% increase across the board from January 2024 until June 2024.
Furthermore, starting from July 2024 until December 2024, the Base Pay will be readjusted to 25%.
The agreement is seen as a positive development for workers in the Public Service of Ghana, as the revised Base Pay provides a significant increase in their salaries.
This adjustment is expected to improve the financial well-being of public service employees and contribute to their overall job satisfaction.

Both parties have expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the negotiations and the agreement reached.
