The Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD, Joseph Boahen Aidoo, has given the green light to Afrotropic Cocoa Processing Company Limited for the importation of cocoa beans from Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria.
According to a letter sighted by Colemanpublication.com the company has been authorized to import 2,500 tonnes of cocoa beans from Cote d’Ivoire and 1,000 tonnes from Nigeria.

The beans are to be carried out exclusively by sea through the Tema Port.
To ensure a smooth importation process, the company has been instructed to provide specific details to the Ghana Cocoa Board.
This includes information regarding the name of the vessel that will be used for transport, the shipment schedule, the quantity of beans to be imported (whether it will be in one bulk or multiple shipments), and the expected date and time of arrival.

Prior to commencing the importation, Afrotropic Cocoa Processing Company Limited is mandated to obtain all necessary authorizations from relevant state institutions, including the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority.
