A final-year student at Esiama Senior High Technical School (SHTS), Philip Armah Ludtroth, tragically lost his life after attempting to jump over the school’s barrier wall.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Wednesday, March 20, during a special program held to honor retired teachers and the Ghana Education Service in the Ellembelle District.

Ludtroth, 19, reportedly tried to scale the wall in order to procure food from outside the school premises.
Unfortunately, he landed on his neck and suffered a severe sprain. Despite his injuries, Ludtroth was rushed to the Clinic at Esiama, and later transferred to St. Martin’s De Porres Hospital in Eikwe.
Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. His body has been taken to the Eikwe Hospital Morgue where an autopsy will be conducted.

Speaking on the incident, Mr. Wilfred Adodoadji, the director of education for the Ellembelle District, confirmed the details and expressed his condolences to Ludtroth’s family.
He revealed that Ludtroth’s mother had visited the school to bring him food, but he attempted to sneak out by jumping over the school fence.

The Esiama Divisional Police Command has launched an investigation into the incident to gather more information surrounding the tragic event.
