The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) has announced the introduction of a QR Code Scanner to verify instructional materials such as textbooks and teacher guides.

This new technology is part of NaCCA’s efforts to promote quality education and enhance learning outcomes in pre-tertiary education.

The QR Code Scanner allows schools, teachers, parents, publishers, and the general public to check the status of instructional materials in real-time and determine if they have received NaCCA’s approval.

Starting from January 2024, all instructional materials approved by NaCCA will be affixed with unique QR codes. However, previously approved materials will not have this feature.

NaCCA also warns the public about unapproved materials in the market claiming to be “NaCCA-GES” approved.

Individuals and schools are urged to contact NaCCA or their district education offices if they have any doubts about the authenticity of materials.
