The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has urged the National Teaching Council (NTC) and other relevant stakeholders to make available the necessary resources for candidates preparing for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination.

In a press conference held on November 29th, 2023, the association called for improved access to study materials to facilitate adequate preparation for the exam.

However, he emphasized that the lack of available materials makes it challenging for candidates to adequately prepare for the examination.

Moreover, TTAG expressed discontentment with the recent increase in the pass mark set by the NTC.

The association called upon the NTC to reconsider and reinstate the pass mark to 50%, advocating for a more balanced approach to evaluating candidates’ readiness for teaching.

Additionally, TTAG emphasized the importance of NTC releasing the exam results promptly. They urged the NTC to streamline the result publication process, allowing candidates to receive their scores promptly.

They believe this would provide candidates with valuable feedback and enable them to plan their next steps accordingly.

Furthermore, TTAG proposed two measures to enhance the overall exam experience.

Firstly, they suggested that the licensure exam should be conducted immediately after trainees complete college.

According to TTAG, this would ensure that the knowledge acquired by trainees during their education is still fresh and relevant for the examination.
