The headmistress of Ghana Senior High School in Koforidua has been suspended by the Ghana Education Service (GES) following allegations of selling unauthorized items to first-year students.

The GES management announced the suspension through a release on December 7, 2023.

In the release, the management addressed the unauthorized sale of certain items to the freshers.

The items reportedly offered for sale include a ceremonial cloth priced at GH¢ 200.00, track suits priced at GH¢ 250.00, and various other undisclosed items.

As a result of these allegations, the headmistress has been asked to step aside with immediate effect to allow for a thorough investigation to take place.

The Ghana Education Service has assured that further action will be taken after the necessary investigations.
