The Registrar of the National Teaching Council (NTC), Dr. Christian Addai-Poku, has revealed that the teaching license awarded to teachers in Ghana has gained international recognition.
Dr Addai-Poku says Ghana is among the four African countries, including South Africa, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe, whose teaching license systems are comparable to that of the United Kingdom (UK).

He made this disclosure in a recent media engagement, explaining that the NTC’s commitment to maintaining high professional standards led to a delegation from the UK evaluating the Ghanaian license system.
As a result, teachers from Ghana and the other three countries, once certified with their respective licenses, are now eligible to teach in the UK.

Highlighting Ghana’s progress in the education field, Dr. Addai-Poku mentioned that some countries have even come to Ghana to learn from their teaching license system.
He urged Ghanaians to uphold the standard of teaching, emphasizing its benefits for future generations.
