The National Identification Authority (NIA) in collaboration with the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has announced the beginning of the registration of Ghanaian children aged 6-14 years.
This initiative is aimed at providing national identification cards for young Ghanaians to facilitate access to essential services and benefits.
The Registration is free of charge and will start on 7th October 2024, with sessions running every weekday from 8:00 am.

The registration venues will be located in schools within each district, making it convenient for parents to register their children.
What You Need:
To register your child, you will need one of the following:
• Original Birth Certificate
• Valid Ghanaian passport
• A parent/relative/legal guardian to vouch for the child under oath (in the absence of a birth certificate or passport)
• Two social welfare officers to vouch for children without relatives

Important Note: Parents are urged to bring their child’s NHIS card or number to facilitate data harmonization between the two institutions.
