The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) and the Ghana Education Service (GES) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to recruit 10,000 teachers and non-teaching staff to support secondary, junior high, and primary schools across the country.
This is the third MoU between YEA and GES, following previous agreements in 2015 and 2018.
The 10,000 personnel will be recruited as teaching assistants, kitchen assistants, and security guards to augment and fill gaps in the GES.

The recruitment will be done in three categories:
- 4,000 kitchen assistants
- 4,000 security guards
- 2,000 teaching assistants
Eligibility
• Teaching assistants: Minimum qualification of a diploma certificate. Monthly allowance: GH¢1,000.

• Security guards and kitchen staff: Monthly allowance: GH¢500.
The YEA is supporting the GES with part of its entitlements under the GET Fund.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to apply for any of the vacancies listed above when it becomes available.
The recruitment is expected to help reduce the pressure on existing staff and boost teaching and learning for better results in schools.
The Deputy CEO of YEA, Alhaji Bashiru Ibrahim, emphasized that the MoU aims to assist the GES in running educational services effectively.

The Deputy Director General of GES, Mr. Stephen Kweku Owusu, also expressed gratitude to the YEA for their assistance and noted that the recruitment will significantly help the GES augment its staff and improve educational services.
