Following weeks of concern regarding the delayed release of the 2024 West African Examinations Council (WAEC) results, the Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has assured the public that the much-awaited results will be released by December 29th.
Dr. Adutwum disclosed this to the media during his visit to the WAEC head office as part of a press briefing on December 24, 2024, where he discussed challenges related to the educational sector, particularly WAEC’s debts.
Earlier, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Kwasi Kwarteng, Esq., disclosed that the Ministry had released an additional GHC25 million to WAEC to support its operations and ensure the smooth and seamless continuation of marking activities.

It is worth noting that WAEC had previously issued a statement indicating that they could not release the results as initially promised due to a breakdown of their scanners.
This technical issue, coupled with financial constraints, had raised concerns among students and parents awaiting the results.

The Ministry has urged the public to be patient as WAEC works to finalize the results process and meet the new deadline of December 29th.

To check your 2024 WASSCE results, follow these steps:
Visit the WAEC Results Checker Portal: Go to the official WAEC results checking website, such as https://ghana.waecdirect.org/
Enter Your Index Number: Input your index number, which is usually a combination of your center number and candidate number
Select Examination Year: Choose the year of your examination, which is 2024.
Enter Serial Number and PIN: Input the serial number and the 12-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) from your results checker card.
