The Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) has expressed concern over the delayed posting of newly qualified teachers by the Ghana Education Service (GES) and its negative consequences.
The association is calling on the government and relevant stakeholders to take immediate action to resolve this issue.
According to TTAG, despite completing their required four years of study in College, serving the nation through National Service, and successfully passing the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE), newly qualified teachers are still awaiting their postings from the GES.

In their release dated 9th May, 2024, the association revealed that, the delay has persisted for over five months, and it is causing frustration, anxiety, and financial strain among these teachers who have invested significant time and effort in acquiring their qualifications.
“We believe that the current situation is unacceptable and undermines the morale and motivation of these teachers who have invested significant time and effort in acquiring the necessary qualifications,” TTAG expressed.
