The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has revealed that trained teachers who completed college in November last year are now eligible to register for the upcoming Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) 1.

The examination is scheduled to take place from March 17 to March 19, 2024.

In a statement released on Thursday, February 22, 2024, the TTAG leadership revealed that the National Teaching Council (NTC) has given the green light for newly trained teachers to register for the GTLE.

“The Association’s leadership has been notified by the National Teaching Council (NTC) that, newly trained teachers are eligible to register for the upcoming GTLE scheduled from March 17, 2024, to March 19, 2024”

TTAG disclosed that currently data for some candidates from the sixteen Colleges of Education affiliated to the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has been uploaded to the NTC portal.

“Presently, data for only some candidates from the sixteen Colleges of Education affiliated with the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has been uploaded onto the NTC portal”

The association also raised concerns about the delayed release of results and the upload of candidates’ data by the remaining mentoring universities.

They stated that petitions have been submitted to the National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF), the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), and the NTC to address the issue promptly.

For candidates whose data has been uploaded, the TTAG encouraged them to proceed with the registration and preparation for the examination.

“For candidates whose data has been uploaded, we encourage you to proceed with registration and writing, provided you are prepared to do so”

For those still awaiting the upload of their data, the association stated they are working diligently to expedite the process.

“For those whose data is pending, be assured that we are actively engaging stakeholders to expedite the release of results”.

“If you are unable to register for the current session, please note that the September 2024 edition will also be administered, allowing you the opportunity to register and write at that time” the statement concluded.
