As part of the activities outlined towards the launching of the Assai Visual Art Students’ Association(AVASA), The Home Economics Unit held an exhibition, fashion show, and a food bazaar on Thursday, 13th October 2022.
The event which took place at the Home Economics Department saw a showcase of varieties of indigenous Ghanaian delicacies and drinks and an artistic array of the latest fashion and designs in the market all done and readied by the Students of the college.
Being the vision of the Principal of the College, Very Reverend Dr. Kwesi Nkum Wilson to build educated, skilled and confident students ready for the modern workplace and students who can start their businesses after college, the Unit and the Students were ever-ready to showcase their crafts.

Speaking with Assai Hill News after her checks, The KEEA Director of Education, and the Acting Regional Director of Education, Mrs. Justine Apawu asserted she was much dazed at the level of intelligence, food, and artworks displayed by the students.
She professed it was indeed a step in the right direction and a terrific initiative the Management of the College has taken by inculcating in the learners practical skills.
“I am truly happy. These are extraordinary displays of arts and delicious delicacies by the Unit. It is a step in the right direction as a college. These students would graduate already having skills they can live with.” Mrs. Justine Apawu asserted.
The Director added that not alone are these students acquiring skills to commence their businesses but also ready to be employed in other sectors and areas such as the hotels, restaurants, and other hospitality arenas aside from the education sector.
She called on the Public to stop by the school and order the services of the Unit as they have a lot to offer, not to the college community alone but the general public.
She concluded by admonishing the learners and the Unit to keep up as their futures are truly bright and great.

The Unit Head for the Home Economics Department, Mrs. Victoria Hayfron positioned that, their doors are open to the general public as the public can order birthday cakes or wedding cakes from the Unit.
She added, individuals, can also hire their services in cooking, decorations, and any other thing relating to food and fashion.
Meanwhile, The Management of the College is making the necessary arrangements so the Home Economics Unit will start sewing the students’ uniforms and outfits in the college
