Teachers Summoned for Disciplinary Hearing for Missing CPD Training

The Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Education Directorate has summoned teachers who missed a recent mandatory Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training to a disciplinary hearing.

The training, held from October 16 to 24, 2024, aimed to equip teachers with skills to enhance the quality of education in the municipality.

However, the absence of some teachers from this important training has drawn the attention of the Directorate, leading to the disciplinary action.

According to a letter signed by Sebastian Atrama Diaw, the Director of Education for Prestea Huni-Valley, the teachers’ absence constitutes a breach of the Professional Code of Conduct.

The Directorate expressed concern that their absence undermines its efforts to improve educational standards in the area.

The disciplinary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the Municipal Education Directorate in Bogoso.

Teachers who missed the CPD training are required to attend the hearing in person, and are also expected to pay a workshop fee of GH₵ 80.00.

According to the Directorate, failure of the teachers concerned to comply with these directives may result in further disciplinary action.
