Teacher at Greta ‘D’ Shepherd Basic School Wins Ghana’s Most Outstanding Teacher Award

Mrs. Faith Aku Dzakpasu, a dedicated and passionate teacher at the Greta ‘D’ Shepherd Basic School in Awoshie, Greater Accra Region, has been awarded the prestigious title of Ghana’s Most Outstanding Teacher at the 2023 Ghana Teacher Prize ceremony held in Takoradi.

This recognition is a testament to Mrs. Dzakpasu’s remarkable contributions to the field of education and her tireless efforts in shaping the minds of young learners.

Her dedication to her students and commitment to their academic growth have set her apart as an exemplary teacher.

As a reward for her outstanding achievements, Mrs. Dzakpasu was presented with a three-bedroom house worth GHS450,000.

In addition to this, she also received a promotion out of turn, allowing her to advance in her professional career.

To further enhance her teaching skills, she was awarded an educational trip to Singapore that will undoubtedly expose her to new teaching techniques and best practices.

Recognizing the importance of financial security for teachers, Mrs. Dzakpasu was presented with a life insurance policy worth GHS1,000,000.

This policy ensures that she and her family are protected in the unfortunate event of unforeseen circumstances.

Furthermore, Mrs. Dzakpasu’s dedication to her own personal growth and development has been acknowledged with a scholarship for further studies.

This scholarship will enable her to expand her knowledge and stay up-to-date with the latest educational trends, ultimately benefiting her students and the education system as a whole.

Madam Isabella Wussah-Tetteh, an exceptional teacher at Sege D/A Primary and Kindergarten (KG) in the Greater Accra Region, emerged as the first runner-up at the awards ceremony.

Her remarkable achievements were recognized with a 4×4 pick-up vehicle, as well as a scholarship and promotion out of turn, acknowledging her outstanding performance in the field of education.

Mr. Fredous Iddi-Amin, hailing from the Ogbojo Presbyterian Basic School in the Greater Accra Region, was announced as the second runner-up. In recognition of his hard work and commitment to education, he received a saloon car, a scholarship, and a promotion out of turn.

Additionally, Mr. Benjamin Semenyo Lifeson, a dedicated tutor at the Presbyterian College of Education in the Eastern Region, was honored as the Best College of Education Teacher.
