The Ghana Education Service will soon release the SHS school placement. As the placement has not yet been released, it is important to familiarize yourself with the process in advance.
To facilitate this process, we have simplified the steps for students, parents, and guardians to carry out from the comfort of their own homes.
Buying School Placement Vouchers Using Mobile Money
To purchase the school placement voucher using mobile money, please follow these simple steps:
- Visit http://ResultsChecker.com.gh or dial *899*550#
- Select the type of card you want to buy, such as the CSSPS (School) Placement Checker.
- Enter the quantity of cards you wish to purchase, and the total amount will be automatically calculated.
- Select “Buy Now”.
- You will be directed to a new screen where you need to input your name and phone number (Card details will be sent via SMS to the phone number provided).
- Proceed to the payment section.
- Choose Mobile Money as the payment option and enter your Mobile Money number.
- An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your phone to confirm the payment.
- Confirm the payment on your phone.
- You will instantly receive an SMS with the placement details and instructions to check.

Checking Senior High School Placement
Once you have obtained a placement voucher, follow the steps below to check your Senior High School placement:
- Visit the CSSPS Website at http://www.cssps.gov.gh/
- Enter your ten-digit index number and append 24 to represent the year of completion. For example, if your index number is 1234567890, enter 123456789024.
- Enter the pin code details, including the serial number and pin.
- Select “Submit” and wait for your placement to be displayed.
- If you have been placed, print the placement form and visit the school to begin the admission process.
- If you haven’t been placed automatically, the system will redirect you to the self-placement portal.

Performing Manual/Self Placement
If a candidate is not matched with any of their preferred choices through the automatic placement system, they will be redirected to the self-placement portal.
Follow these simple steps to perform manual/self-placement:

Select a school by providing the following information:
- Region
- Residential preference
- School
- Programme of Choice
it should be noted that Candidates can change their selected schools on the self-placement portal as many times as they wish until they enrol in a school.
