Kevin Taylor has advised all Senior High School graduates who wish to attend Nursing Training Colleges (NTC) and Colleges of Education (CoE) but are only willing to do so if they receive allowances to stay home.
His comments follow recent statements made by the Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu.
The Minister of Education recently disclosed that the government has no intention of canceling the current teacher allowances.
However, he mentioned plans to gradually introduce an improved student loan scheme for NTC and CoE, both tertiary institutions still under development.
He also indicated that the government could no longer afford to feed teacher trainees.

In a viral video, Taylor addressed these developments, arguing that teachers and nursing trainees have no option but to opt for the loans available to tertiary students in Ghana.
“I agree with Hon. Haruna Iddrisu; if you are a tertiary student, go and take the loan; the government will not feed any student again,” Taylor stated.
He criticized the reliance on allowances, highlighting that many students in CoE and NTC are mature individuals who operate businesses such as provision shops.

Taylor advised all students to consider the student loan scheme offered to all tertiary students in the country.
“The government will not take care of SHS students and also take care of CoE and NTC students at the same time,” he added.
Expressing frustration, Taylor questioned why students running businesses at home still expected free food, especially when they could afford to spend money on data for social media platforms like TikTok.
He also mentioned that there are many students at home eager to be given admission, implying that if some current trainees refuse to attend without allowances, others will gladly take their place.
