The reopening date for colleges of education has been postponed, according to information received by Coleman Publications.
According to the information, PRINCOF has made the decision to delay the start of the second semester, originally scheduled for June 2, 2024, to Sunday, June 9, 2024.
Sources reveal that the postponement is a direct result of the government’s failure to pay the students’ feeding component, as well as a reduction in the daily amount provided for meals.
Previously set at GH₵10.00 per day, the feeding component has now been reduced to GH₵6.50 daily.

This decision by government has left the Principals of the various Colleges of Education dissatisfied, and they plan to engage with the government on these issues in the upcoming week.
However, trainees are urged to await official communication from PRINCOF, as it is hopeful they will release an official statement soon regarding this matter.
