The Government of Ghana has announced the appointment of Professor Ernest Kofi Davis as the new Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES).

Who is Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis?
Professor Ernest Kofi Davis boasts an impressive academic pedigree. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, and a Master of Arts in Mathematics Education from Hiroshima University in Japan.
His educational journey began at UCC, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Mathematics in 1999.
Throughout his career, Professor Davis has received numerous accolades, including:
- Monash Graduate Scholarship (MGS) in 2007
- British Academy Visiting Scholar Award in 2011
- Inter-Departmental Research Support Grant from UCC’s Directorate of Research and Innovation Consultancy (DRIC)
Leadership and Professional Experience
Professor Davis’ career is marked by significant leadership roles and active involvement in professional bodies.
Notably, he served as Vice-President of the Ghana Education Research Association (GERA-Ghana) in 2018.
