The Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) has announced the postponement of the re-opening date for the second semester of the 2023/2024 Academic Year.
This decision was made during their 2nd quarterly General Meeting held in Techiman, where Principals of the 46 Public Colleges of Education gathered to address critical issues.
In a notice addressed to staff, students, and stakeholders, PRINCOF expressed regret over the decision to defer the re-opening date.
“We regret to inform you that the re-opening date of the Colleges of Education for the second semester of the 2023/2024 Academic Year has been postponed to 9th June, 2024 instead of the earlier date on the Academic Calendar,” PRINCOF Stated.

The deferral was deemed necessary due to circumstances beyond PRINCOF’s control.
According to them, this additional time will enable the conference to engage in consultations with the Government to address pressing concerns that are affecting the smooth operations of the Colleges.

PRINCOF also recognized the inconveniences the postponement may have caused and has assured all stakeholders that efforts are being made in collaboration with relevant authorities to expedite the resolution of the issues at hand in order to resume academic activities as soon as possible.
“We understand the inconvenience this may cause and are working diligently with the relevant authorities to ensure that academic work resumes as soon as possible,” PRINCOF expressed
Prof. Samuel Awinkene Atintono, the National President of PRINCOF, and Dr. Samuel Addae-Boateng, the Secretary, faithfully urged all staff, students, and stakeholders to remain patient and supportive as efforts are made to resolve the current issues and ensure the smooth functioning of the Colleges.
