The Principal of Wiawso College of Education, Prof. Emmanuel Carsamer, has made a heartfelt plea to H.E. John Dramani Mahama to fulfill an infrastructure project promise made by the previous Akuffo Addo-led NPP government to the college.

Speaking at the 15th graduation ceremony held by the college on January 18, 2025, Prof. Carsamer emphasized, “Insufficient facilities have been a crucial hindrance for admitting the required number of students to pursue their tertiary education.”

He explained that the college wished to admit more students, but the limited facilities and infrastructure have become their major problem, with the NPP government promising to help them but never materialized.

He also appealed to the Education Minister-designate, Hon. Harruna Iddrisu, to endeavor to put up a 300-bed capacity hostel, which the former Minister, Hon. Osei Yaw Adutwum, had promised during the previous Akuffo Addo-led NPP administration.

Prof. Carsamer further called on other corporate institutions, especially the Anglican Church, to come to their aid and make their presence felt in the school.

The event, themed “Enhancing Quality Education: The Role of ICT Integration in the 21st Century,” saw 389 students being conferred with Bachelor Degrees in Basic Education.

Prof. Carsamer highlighted the college’s achievements, noting that this year’s ceremony marked the second batch of graduates to receive Bachelor’s Degrees in Basic Education.

A total of 389 graduates were featured in three different programs: JHS, Primary, and Early Grade Education.

Among them, 31 graduates obtained First Class Honours, 203 had Second Class Upper Division, 128 with Second Class Lower Division, and 20 had Third Class, with none obtaining a Pass.

Master Emmanuel Gyimah was named the valedictorian with a CGPA of 3.75.
