During a recent tour in the Bono Region, Mahama addressed the issue, stating that the current government had promised to pay the allowances but had not followed through.

He urged Akufo-Addo and Bawumia to fulfill their promise and provide the much-needed support to the nursing trainees.

“Nana Addo and Bawumia said they will pay the allowances, I beg you, Nana Addo and Bawumia if you’re hearing me, we are here in Krobo Nursing Training School, they say two years now you haven’t paid them their allowances, let the allawa come” he stated.

The issue of the allowance for nursing trainees has been a point of contention, with Mahama previously canceling the payment during his time in office.

However, Akufo-Addo restored the allowance upon assuming office.
